Training with BMRC
Training is important to our members, which is why BMRC puts together a packed schedule of lessons for dressage, cross country and show jumping, with a range of talented instructors, at a variety of top venues in the surrounding area.
We aim to be as flexible as possible with our lessons. If lessons are full, additional lessons may be added if possible.
TAILORED JUMP SESSIONS
Jumping lessons are not height specific, but will be tailored to individual and group needs as much as possible. We offer lessons from our introductory 'Jump With Confidence' (JWC) to 1m+. Please indicate your preferred height range when booking to ensure greater compatibility with other participants.

Lesson Etiquette
We have an undeniably good range of instructors who teach for the club and please can we remind all members to be respectful to all of our instructors.
Simply, all we are asking is:
1) Please ensure that you arrive for lessons on time and ensure you clean up all poo and hay from arenas and lorry parks. We are welcomed at various venues and it is important that we leave them all clean
2) Do not expect your instructor to clean up droppings and hay left by your horse in arenas and yards
3) Please ensure you have paid for your lesson in advance
4) Do not contact instructors to cancel yourself from a lesson which the RC has organised, please cancel through the BMRC lesson booking system.
5) When you are attending your lesson please listen and learn from your instructor and ask questions if you are unsure about anything which you are being asked to do.
For full lesson rules please read the Constitution section 15 – 27
Jump lesson formats
Below is a guide to our jump lesson groups and formats.
We are asking members be responsible for their bookings and try not to over estimate abilities of themselves and horses so we can match groups as evenly as possible.
We all know what horses can be like, one minute everything is going brilliantly and next thing you hit a bump in the road and have to work through an issue.
So if you are on a lesson with another member who is experiencing that bump in the road then please try to be encouraging and supportive.
We all share the same passion and all want to do our very best with our horses.
Lesson group heights:
With horse and rider safety in mind please ensure, when booking, that you are happy jumping that height, including combination and spread fences.
