Welcome to
Blackdown Mendip Riding Club

Blackdown Mendip Riding Club is an affiliated member of British Riding Club Area 12 and has the primary aim of helping members to become the best riders that they can be.

A friendly and welcoming club, we run a fun and varied programme of activities with, and sometimes without, your horse and we encourage all our members to get involved as much as possible. So whether you just want to have fun with your horse, compete, train, or improve your horsemanship we have something for you!

Take a look at our programme of events from lessons, specialised clinics, member’s days, TREC competitions, residential camps and winter dressage series. Members may also take part in Area 12 competitions and have the chance to compete at BRC national championships.

We welcome those who are new to riding or returning to the saddle and would like to build their confidence or develop their ability and have some fun in the process.

If you want to volunteer to help at events or you fancy joining our hard working committee please email our chair.

We offer lessons in the three basic disciplines of dressage, cross country and show jumping at cost price or subsidised at a variety of venues in the surrounding area.

We like to offer twice yearly residential weekend camps to members which provide the opportunity to stay away with their horse, to be fed and watered, receive intensive riding instruction and develop friendships.

Blackdown Mendip Events

Members Days are held in the summer that give members the opportunity to take part in dressage and combined training competitions in a pressure free environment and are ideally suited to help build confidence and meet fellow Club members. The competitions are run on a league basis with trophies at both senior and junior levels awarded at the clubs AGM. Day rallies and occasional social events complete the program.

We organise open unaffiliated dressage competitions at Badgworth Arena in either the spring or winter of each year and the committee are always open to suggestions from the members.
