Welcome to the Blackdown Mendip Riding Club
BLACKDOWN MENDIP RIDING CLUB was formed in 1991 by Sally Busby with a group of friends and is now affiliated to the British Horse Society.
Our aim is for you to join other likeminded members in a variety of equestrian events, mostly held locally.

Our enthusiastic committee organise many events all year round. Events include a Winter Dressage Series, Summer Members Days, 2 x Riding Camps and much much more. Events are always posted on the website and are included in our newsletters which are sent quarterly to all members.
Summer Members Days are held once a month during the summer. These are friendly competitions held at local venues for RC members only. Marks from each competition are added together and each year, at the AGM in October, a lovely bronze will be presented to the Junior and Senior member who has accumulated the most points over that summer. The bronze can be kept for one year.
On top of all our events BMRC’s hard working committee also organise group lessons which run almost daily throughout the year. Lessons come in a variety of Flatwork, Show Jumping and Cross Country with local trainers and venues at very reasonable rates. Our trainers are very experienced and most are qualified BHS instructors ranging from BHSAI up to BHSI. We are also very lucky that within our trainers we have International Event riders, BSJA Show Jumpers and an Olympic Grand Prix Dressage Rider!
We compete every year in all disciplines at Area level achieving good results. We do not select for teams, so if you want to be part of a team, be it dressage, show jumping, cross-country or hunter trials, just let us know by emailing area12@blackdownmendiprc.co.uk or contact Tilly Latimer or Lucy Counsell

Our financial year runs from February to February, and the subscription is a very modest: £20 for senior members, £15 for juniors and £15 for non-riding members.
As well as the discounts you receive from being a British Riding club member locally our members are also eligible for;
10% discounts from Garretts Saddlers, Draycott (Garretts 10% does not apply to leather goods, feeds or supplements)
Discounts on all photographic products from Equestrian Images
10% Discount from Stablemates Rugs on for Wash and Reproofing services
10% discount from Brenhams Equestrian (excluding Equivet products)
