BMRC run a full calendar of events throughout the year, catering for all levels and types of riding.
(Please note that only Blackdown Mendip Riding club members can attend lessons and the "Members Only" shows.)

Lessons:
All BMRC members are able to book on one of our many organized group lessons. Our lessons are always very popular. To see a full list of events and check availability please take a look at our events list. Our lessons take place at various venues throughout the region. You will find directions to these venues below. You can also see a map of the venues here.
Please book in with Sue Webb according to which lesson you wish to go on. If lessons are full, but you are interested, please still contact us as we might be able to provide other hour or if someone drops out you will be able to take their place.
Please note Unless stated all Riding Club members should pay instructors directly for lessons and any cancellations need to be received 5 days before your lesson. We understand that things do happen and people sometimes are unable to make lesson but if you do not give us 5 days notice to cancel your place on a lesson we will have to charge you for it, unless we find someone to fill your space.

(Advance notice: Stockland Lovell requires all horses using their stables to be vaccinated in accordance with riding club rules, therefore anyone planning to attend autumn camp that does not have the necessary vaccinations needs to take action. A copy of the flu vac and ID pages of passport will be needed to be sent with application forms.
“We (Stockland Lovell) do ask that all horses are up to date with their vaccinations, as we are a competition centre with so many horses coming and going we have to ensure we are doing everything we can for the benefit of others. We do understand that not everyone does vaccinate so as long as they have started the process and had the first two that is fine.”)
Members Days:
Members days are held once a month during the summer. These are friendly competitions, marks from which are added together each month, and Junior and Senior winners are presented with lovely bronzes at the AGM in October to keep for that year.
The first of our 2010 member’s days will be Saturday May 22nd at Regil Farm. More details will follow, please watch this space!

Directions to Stretcholt Farm Stables, Stretcholt, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 4SR - MAP
From the M5 exit at J23 and at the first roundabout (above the motorway) take the Bridgwater exit. At the next roundabout, turn right and take the A38 northwards towards Highbridge. Continue for approximately two miles. After Pawlett, a sign to Stretcholt is seen on your left hand side. Turn left into Red Lane, and continue for about half a mile. The entrance to Stretcholt Farm is straight ahead at the sharp right-hand bend in the road.
Drive VERY CLOSE to the the automatic gates and they will open. (Please note: Sloway Lane on Multimap has been renamed Red Lane on the road signs.)

On the A38 out of Bridgwater, Cannington College is about 4 miles from Bridgwater in Canninton village.

Directions: Coming from north, take A38 from Bristol (past Bristol Airport). Coming from south, take A38 over Mendip Hills. At Churchill traffic lights (the only lights for miles on the A38), turn left if coming from Bristol, right if coming from the south, onto A368 signposted Bath.
After 2 miles, turn right on to B3134 signposted Burrington. On B3134 go to top of Burrington Coombe. If going up the Coombe from Langford, cross both cattle grids, Middle Ellick Farm is 500m past the second on the right (opposite Ellick Road), and will be signposted. If approaching from the Wells direction, Middle Ellick is on the left as the road begins its descent), it will be signposted. Grid ref: ST 495 575.
Direction to Rosamund Green Farm from Glastonbury (M5,A361,B3136) - MAP
Approach Shepton Mallet on the B3136. At the mini roundabout with the Texaco Garage opposite, turn left. At the next mini roundabout continue straight over. Continue out of town, going up a hill under a large viaduct. Approx 100 yards after the viaduct, the road bends sharply to the right. Take the left hand fork of this bend into an un-marked land (with triangle of grass and a bench). Continue on this lane (with stone walls on either side) and take the 1st lane to the left (halfway up a short slope). Rosamund Green Farm is the first (and only) farm on the right.

From Bristol
Take A38 heading south towards Weston S Mare/Bridgwater
Follow past waterworks at Barrow Gurney and towards Airport
Take the B3130 Barrow Lane towards Winford follow for c.2miles
Continue past Duke of Wellington pub, with two sharp bends taking the right turn on the 2nd bend (the last right turn before leaving the village) into Regil Lane
The yard is 500 yards on left past the entrance to MJPatch Engineering.
From Weston
Take A38 towards Bristol past Airport.
Take right turn into Felton Lane heading towards Winford - follow to end of road c 2.5miles
Take right turn onto Barrow Lane opposite the Duke of Wellington pub, with two sharp bends taking the right turn on the 2nd bend (the last right turn before leaving the village) into Regil Lane
The yard is 500 yards on left past the entrance to MJPatch Engineering.

Directions to Jo May, Home Farm, West Stoughton - MAP
From the A38 , turn towards Wemore and Allerton at Lower Weare, close to Lunns Garage. This road is Notting Hill Way. Follow Notting Hill Way past the Wheatsheaf pub, and past Ashton Windmill. After the windmill, you will come to a small bridge at Washbrook, which is only wide enough for one car at a time. Shortly after that you will come to Stoughton Cross, where you can turn left to Cheddar or right to Blackford. Turn right to Blackford. You will pass Bear House Farm on your right. You will then pass a few fields before coming into West Stoughton. In West Stoughton, there is a cross roads next to a house called Crossways Cottage. Go straight ahead here, and Jo's yard is a couple of hundred yards along the road, on the right hand side. It is called Home Farm.

Directions to Natalie Edwards LOWER WICK FARM WICK ST LAWRENCE BS22 7YS - MAP
From junction 21 of the M5, head towards Congresbury and Hewish on the A370. After half mile on left there is a sign to Wick St Lawrence. Turn left, following the sign. Travel over a railway bridge and a motorway bridge. Stay on that road for about a mile. You will eventually see the village church on right. Slow down immediately after the church, and turn right into Duck Lane. Lower Wick Farm is the farm at the bottom of the lane.

Directions to Blackdown Liveries - MAP
Go to Shipham, turn up Northdown Lane, opposite the school. At the next crossroads go straight across which then leads into Lippiat Lane. Go to the top of the Lane then bear right (very rough) and follow on - the road bears to the right again and park wherever there is a space (normally on the left by the barn).
Directions to Rhodyate Farm - MAP
Rhodyate Farm is clearly marked on both the Landranger and Explorer Ordnance Survey maps. From the A38, turn at Sidcot towards Winscombe and follow the road through Winscombe (there is a bridge that is narrow and I do not know how high it is - you might want to check it out if you are in a lorry) towards Banwell. Go past the garden centre on the left, and then up the hill to the castle, also on your left. Immediately after the castle, there is a left turn, quite sharp, sign posted to Christon and Loxton. Take this road, and follow it down hill. At the bottom of the hill, Rhodyate Farm is straight ahead of you at the point that the road bears right.
Directions to Karen Pinn's yard is at Rose Farm, Kingsway, Tarnock - MAP
Kingsway joins Mark Causeway to the A38. Kingsway leaves Mark in the centre of the village and travels pretty much due north until it reaches the A38. Rose Farm is marked on both the Landranger and Explorer OS maps, and is closer to the A38 end of Kingsway than Mark.
Directions to Tina Burrows Regilbury Court, Regil, North Somerset, BS40 8DS - MAP
A38 At Bristol airport with airport on right (travelling south) go straight across roundabouts for airport and car park take next left to Winford, Chew Magna and Bungalow Inn take 3rd turning on right (you'll see cottages on left and right) follow lane, there will be a no through road sign after about 1 mile keep going on same lane yard is first drive on right about half mile further along opposite small sign with a cow on it. Drive up drive and around to left at top, park on left opposite cottage not in front of big house.
